Visian ICL™

The Visian ICL is a revolutionary new way to correct higher amounts of nearsightedness (myopia) in patients under 40. This FDA approved lens implant is inserted into the eye between the iris (the colored portion of the eye), and the natural crystalline lens. This lens acts like a permanent contact lens, since it brings the world into clear focus, but does not need to be removed. The lens material, called Collamer™, is extremely biocompatible, markedly reducing the chance of any long term post-operative inflammation. The Visian ICL has been implanted in tens of thousands of eyes all over the world. Most studies and most surgeons find that in higher levels of nearsightedness, this lens results in better vision quality then laser vision correction procedures such as NuSite™ or LASIK.

The insertion procedure is performed at our in-office, state licensed, AAAHC certified ambulatory surgery center. The patient is given a light IV sedation and eye drops to anesthetize the eye. The procedure takes only a few minutes and is virtually painless. Results are immediate with vision clearing rapidly over the first day. Call us to see if you are a candidate for this exciting new procedure.
