Community Outreach

Virginia Beach Eye Center is proud to be a part of the Hampton Roads community. As such, we team up with local hospitals and volunteer organizations to offer eye care services to those in need.

Working with Volunteers of America, we sponsor free clinics annually for those who cannot afford eye examinations or eyeglasses. To participate in this program, please contact 757.437.4911.

VBEC is also proud to sponsor Mission Cataract USA, a program that provides cataract surgery to patients with significant vision impairment from cataracts or who would be blind without the procedure. Patients who qualify are of all ages, uninsured and otherwise financially unable to pay for the surgery. The Mission Cataract initiative is coordinated nationally by the Volunteer Eye Surgeons’ Association (VESA), an organization comprised of members with a common interest in curing and preventing blindness around the world.
